You just said that out loud!

Well, I wasn't too excited about it during the day but my Spanish Halloween was okay. Not a lot of people dress up here and there definitely aren't mega stores like in the US filled with costumes and decorations. The most popular costumes we saw were vampires and witches but we did see a Michael Jackson on the metro that we did an impromptu performance of Billy Jean with. Nevertheless, we made the best of it. Most of us in the dorm dressed up as something. I was a school teacher, there were some frat boys, 2 cats, an Eskimo, a fish, a hula girl, a sheriff, a pumpkin and a pirate. I think we did okay!

We made so
me drinks at the dorm: witch's brew (champagne and blackberry something I think) pumpkin punch (just something fruity but it was pretty colors!) and spooky juice. That was the funnest one cuz it was a shot of chocolate syrup and then a shot of peppermint schnapps poured in your mouth (while on your knees) and then u swish it around. I tried a little bit of each one but had some good white wine for most of the night. The girls did good with the drinks though! We just gathered in a room and listened to music and played games. Afterwards we went to Casco Viejo where the streets were full of people as usual just drinking and talking. That night there had been an Athletic Game (soccer aka futbol) and we won! So people were in good spirits. I went a got a slice of pizza but had had enough to drink and didn't need to buy any more with the money I don't have.

It's funny w
ho you run into around Spain...We were getting of the metro and trying to figure out where we were meeting the rest of the posse and 2 people came up to us and said, "We heard English and came running over!" They were two other students from Nebraska and somewhere else studying in the city. It doesn't happen a lot but we've met a handful of people on the way to school, on the metro, or at the mall.

We were trying to find some party
on a beach or something but there were some mis-communications and we ended up going home around 2:30. It was a fun night though and I am glad I got to spend the holiday doing something fun with my friends!
